Problem
In the Adriatic region, destination cards are rare and often limited in functionality, leading to missed opportunities and long-term visitor loyalty. There’s significant potential in the region that remains untapped due to various factors. The state of digitization and system connectivity varies greatly across locations, destinations, regions, and countries:
1. Non-digital systems
Writing down the name and surname by hand on a (paper) card—there’s no system in place with the providers to track who used the card or where they got a discount or benefit.
2. Partially digital systems
- Tracking just the discounts used;
- A paid card that gives you cheaper or even free entries at certain spots, and it logs which card number it is to give you that discount or freebie;
